Terms of Service for Money Minder

2.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Money Minder. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the App under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

By using the App, you represent and warrant that:

• You meet the age requirements stated above
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations

2.2 Geographic Restrictions

The App is intended for use globally, but we make no representation that the App is appropriate or available for use in all locations. Users who access the App from jurisdictions where its contents are illegal or prohibited are responsible for compliance with local laws.

3.1 Account Creation

• Signing in with your Google account
• Providing accurate and complete information
• Maintaining the security of your account credentials

3.2 Account Responsibilities

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized access or security breach
• Ensuring your account information remains accurate and up-to-date

3.3 Account Security

• Use a secure Google account with strong password protection
• Do not share your account credentials with others
• Do not allow others to access your account
• Log out from shared devices after use

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.

4.1 Limited License

• Download and install the App on devices you own or control
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Access features and functionality as provided by us

4.2 License Restrictions

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices (copyright, trademark, etc.)
• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Circumvent any security features or access controls
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers/networks connected to the App
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code

4.3 Commercial Use Prohibition

• Do not use the App to provide services to third parties
• Do not resell, rent, lease, or sublicense access to the App
• Do not use the App in any commercial capacity without our express written permission

5.1 User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all data and content you create, upload, or submit through the App, including transaction records, receipt images, notes and descriptions, and categories and settings.

5.2 License to User Content

By submitting content to the App, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Store, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the Service
• Create backups and derivative works for operational purposes
• Use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics and service improvement

We will not use your personal financial data for advertising or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

5.3 Content Accuracy

• The accuracy of transaction data you enter or import
• Verifying automatically imported SMS transactions
• Reconciling your financial records with official bank statements
• Any decisions made based on data in the App

The App is a tool for personal financial tracking. We are not responsible for financial decisions, tax obligations, or accounting accuracy.

5.4 Prohibited Content

• Illegal, fraudulent, or unlawful content
• Content that infringes intellectual property rights
• Content containing malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Defamatory, obscene, or offensive content
• Content that violates the privacy rights of others

6.1 SMS Access

• Read SMS messages from your device
• Filter and identify transaction-related messages from banks and payment providers
• Extract transaction details (amount, date, merchant) from relevant SMS
• Sync filtered transaction data to our servers

6.2 SMS Data Limitations

• We only process SMS from verified bank/UPI senders (HDFC, Axis, SBI, Paytm, etc.)
• We do not collect personal, OTP, or promotional messages
• Only messages containing keywords (debited, credited, amount, balance) are parsed
• You can revoke SMS permissions at any time through device settings
• Automatic import is a convenience feature and may not capture all transactions

6.3 Transaction Verification

• Review automatically imported transactions for accuracy
• Verify transaction details against official bank statements
• Manually correct any errors in imported data
• Do not rely solely on SMS imports for complete financial records

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The App and all its contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to software, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and algorithms) are owned by Money Minder and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property rights.

7.2 Feedback and Suggestions

If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App ("Feedback"), you grant us an unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such Feedback without compensation or attribution.

8.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable, uninterrupted service. However, we do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or without interruptions, will be error-free or secure from unauthorized access, that defects will be corrected immediately, or that the App will meet your specific requirements.

8.2 Maintenance and Downtime

We reserve the right to perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, temporarily suspend or restrict access to the App, and modify, update, or discontinue features with or without notice.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance, but we are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

8.3 App Updates

• Download and install updates promptly
• Older versions may become incompatible or unsupported
• Continued use may require acceptance of updated Terms

9.1 Free Service

Money Minder is currently provided free of charge. You are not required to pay any subscription fees to access basic features.

9.2 Future Premium Features

• We may introduce premium features requiring payment
• We may implement subscription plans or in-app purchases
• We may modify pricing with reasonable notice to users

Any paid features will be clearly disclosed before purchase, and separate payment terms will apply.

9.3 No Refunds

• All fees paid (if applicable) are non-refundable
• No refunds for unused portions of subscription periods
• Exceptions may be made at our sole discretion or as required by law

10.1 Third-Party Integrations

• Google Sign-In (for authentication)
• Firebase (for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring)
• Google Fonts (for typography)

10.2 Third-Party Disclaimer

• We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services
• We are not responsible for changes to third-party services that affect App functionality
• We are not responsible for third-party data practices or privacy policies
• We are not responsible for disputes between you and third-party service providers

11.1 Your Responsibility

• Maintain backups of your important financial data
• Export transaction records periodically
• Keep copies of receipt images outside the App

11.2 No Guarantee of Data Preservation

While we implement reasonable data protection measures, we do not guarantee permanent storage of your data, recovery of deleted data, or protection against all forms of data loss.

11.3 Limitation of Liability for Data Loss

We are not liable for any loss, corruption, or deletion of your data, whether caused by technical failures or errors, security breaches, account termination, user error or device issues, or force majeure events.

12.1 Termination by You

• Use the account deletion feature in the App settings
• Contact us at support@moneyminder.in
• Uninstall the App from your device

Upon termination: Your access to the App will cease immediately; your data will be deleted from our servers in accordance with our Privacy Policy; local data will be cleared from your device.

12.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account. If this occurs, you may contact us at support@moneyminder.in to request clarification.

12.3 Effect of Termination

• Your license to use the App terminates immediately
• All your data may be permanently deleted
• You must cease all use of the App
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

13.1 "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Basis

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE, OR ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS.

13.2 No Financial Advice

Money Minder is a financial tracking tool only. We do not provide financial advice, tax preparation or accounting services, investment guidance, or legal or professional advice. Consult qualified professionals for such matters.

13.3 SMS Import Accuracy

We do not guarantee accurate parsing of all SMS messages, complete capture of all transactions, correct categorization of expenses, or real-time synchronization. You are responsible for verifying all imported transactions.

13.4 Third-Party Content

We are not responsible for bank or payment provider SMS formats, changes to third-party message templates, or third-party service interruptions affecting SMS delivery.

14.1 Maximum Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MONEY MINDER AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGES INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL; COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES; INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES; OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

14.2 Cap on Damages

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

14.3 Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@moneyminder.in and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation.

16.2 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16.3 Jurisdiction and Venue

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be instituted in the courts of [Your City/State], India. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objections based on inconvenient forum.

16.4 Arbitration (Optional)

For disputes that cannot be resolved informally, you and Money Minder agree to resolve disputes through binding arbitration, except that either party may bring an action in court to seek injunctive or equitable relief, protect intellectual property rights, or resolve disputes related to data privacy. Arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in accordance with the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

16.5 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.

18.1 Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms at any time at our sole discretion for reasons including legal or regulatory compliance, security enhancements, feature changes, or clarifications.

18.2 Notice of Changes

When we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top, notify you via email or in-app notification, and provide a summary of significant changes.

18.3 Acceptance of Changes

Your continued use of the App after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App, delete your account, and uninstall the App.

18.4 Review Responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically. We recommend checking for updates when you receive notifications of changes.

19.1 Customer Support

We provide customer support via email at support@moneyminder.in and in-app help. We aim to respond within 48 hours during business days, but response times are not guaranteed.

19.2 Feature Requests

While we welcome feedback and feature requests, we are under no obligation to implement requested features, provide timelines, or notify users of implementation.

20.1 Google Play Store

• Google is not a party to these Terms
• Google has no obligation to provide support or maintenance
• Google is not liable for any claims related to the App
• These Terms are between you and Money Minder only

20.2 Compliance

• Comply with Google Play Store Terms of Service
• Comply with Android operating system terms and conditions
• Comply with all applicable platform-specific terms
